Thibaut Garcia Guitar recital
Tuesday 17 September - Stratford Playhouse
BBC Radio 3 New Generation artist Thibaut Garcia plays a recital of highly attractive and mostly Spanish and Argentinian music, along with his own much-praised version of Bach’s towering D minor chaconne.

Chaconne in D minor
“What is most impressive about listening to Thibaut Garcia is the ease with which he transforms into music every technical and interpretive gesture, every breath and every silence, using the guitar as a natural extension of his own voice.” Lorenzo Micheli, guitarist
Thibaut Garcia was drawn to the guitar from the age of 7. He began his studies at the Paris Conservatoire aged 16, coming to international attention soon afterwards with several major competition wins to his name. Aged 21, he won First Prize in the International Competition of the Guitar Foundation of America, the Jose Tomas Competition and the International Guitar Competition of Seville, among others. Thibaut now plays in the biggest guitar festivals around the world and in 2017 was named a New Generation Artist by the BBC, which led to his debut at the Wigmore Hall.
